Assignment 3:

Conversation 1:  Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
Recommending:  Tales of a Female Nomad by Rita Gelman
Rita Gelman, on the verge of a divorce, leaves home to find herself and decides to follow her dreams of world travel.  She visits exotic place like Borneo and learns new life skills.

Conversation 2:  Like the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer but no teen love
Recommending: Pale Death by David Thurlo
FBI agent Diane Lopez is investigating gruesome deaths involving the loss of blood in the victims, which appear to be the work of vampires.  But the only vampire she knows is her friend Les, a fellow agent.  Is he the Killer?

Conversation 3:   River of Doubt by Candice Millard
Recommending:  Destiny of the Republic by Candice Millard
Would you like to read another book by that author?  President James Garfield raises from poverty to become a Civil War Hero, a Congressman and then the President in 1881.  In charge of a country filled with corrupt politicians, he trying to turn things around when he is shot and killed within six months of his election.

  2. Great minds think alike! I also picked Destiny of the Republic for Conversation 3. It was the first book that came to mind when I read the description of River of Doubt, then it turned out to be by the same author.
