ReplyDeleteYou reviews are well done. I see how you incorporated the appeal factors directly.
As I get more familiar with the terms I see how it all applies to RA. It is a convenient way to file titles and match them to readers.

Becky,
ReplyDeleteI tried to post this last week, but it seems it got lost in cyberspace. So I'm going to try again. Hopefully it will work this time.
Based on your two books that you have annotated, I would like to recommend Hellbent by Cherie Priest. This is a fast-pased mystery with a strong female character who happens to also be a vampire. There is also a lively does of quirky humor sprinkled throughout the book. And if you enjoy it, you can continue on with the second book, Bloodshot.

ReplyDeleteOops, I forgot to do a second book. If you haven't already read the Sookie Stackhouse series, check out the first book Dead Until Dark. This also is a fast-pased, suspense with a strong female protagonist and several different classifications of supernatural creatures. If you're willing to forego the female protagonist, I would suggest the Iron Druid series by Kevin Hearne or Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher. Both of these series would foot the bill if you don't mind books with a male protagonist.
ReplyDeleteI love the Iron Druid books! They're entirely ridiculous and fun.
DeleteI've been really curious about the Mercy Thompson stuff. I might have to finally pick one up.
